friday word of the week: luddite
I’m just saying. It sure was nice to get a letter in the mail. To sit down, write a letter, and put a stamp on it. I like talking to someone–a human–on the phone if I have a problem with my student loans, or cable, or phone, or whatever. I don’t like talking to machines. I miss going to movie rental places and perusing the aisles. Life is easier when it’s smaller. I like to see my friends in person, even if it means I lose 350 of them. I need to see them, to hug them, and to look in their eyes instead of their text messages.
I know, I know. There are a lot of great things about technology, and this freight train ain’t slowing down.
It’s just my attention span is already challenged. And I wouldn’t mind opening my email and actually receiving some email that I don’t have to mark as “junk.”
I am who I am. And I’m a luddite.
